How did come to be a reality.

A group of friends were out at their local meat raffle on a cold Sunday afternoon. They didn’t want the fun to end and turn to their phones in an attempt to locate the next raffle. Then in a moment of frustration someone said “ I wish there was one website that had a list of all the raffles” Within 24 hours was born. We rely heavily on information from fellow Meat Heads to build our database.

As for the history of the raffles themselves nobody really knows how they started. All things seem to point to the British during WWII when meat was rationed. Local families would get together and put all their rations in one pile and then raffle it off so that one family could enjoy a full meal. Regardless of how the tradition started meat raffles are alive and well in the midwest the younger generation is starting to take this trend and run with it.
